Papa's white cap

Don't I look good in papa's cap? Mama bought me a new cap for 18-24 months but it is way too small for my "big" head. They dun sell for > 24 months old cap, hence I think I fit an adult cap better!

Christmas party in the CC

Today, brought ZQ specially for a Christmas party celebration in school. So in the morning, we had to catch a cab. Being the first day of the ridiculous fare hike for taxi, a 35% of journey's fare during peak period, I decided not to take Comfort Delgro's taxi today. Saw a smart taxi and hopped on to it, but this is only temporary, by next week, all the cabs will be following suit.

ZQ kinda remembers that when we reach the CC, mommy will leave for work, hence, he started to cling tightly to me and wanted me to carry him. Thoughout the celebration and presentation by the other older kids at the CC, he refused to come down. Later, we gave him some milk and played a little with him in his classroom.

It was later at the eating session that he was enjoying himself more.

Afternoon, we brough him to the Singapore Science Centre and he had a wild time going around looking at the interesting exhibits. He was also running around alot ... well, afterall, he had his nap on our way to the science centre.

Noticed that he keeps crying for mama recently , especially before he sleeps and also when I pick him up from the CC after my work. I hope this is only a phase, quite SIM TIA to see him crying more. He seldom cry at home though.

Vivo once again

Had a great time splashing @ Vivo in the afternoon while mommy went shopping. Mommy decided to create this nice poster with the pics at Sentosa Costa sands resort - a very lousy place.

Third day at the CC

I went to check on ZQ during lunchtime but the principal told me not to go in to distract him as they are getting the kids ready for nap time. So I left.
Only went back to pick him up after work. When I reached there, ZQ saw me and immediately teared. I hugged him and then he pulled me into the room 2 watch Barney. Shortly we waved goodbyes to the other kids and then made our way home.

ZQ has a good appetite during dinner - I guess he did not eat much at the CC. They only fed him 2 milk feed. Not sure if he had his nap and finished his meals at the CC cos when I reached, the teacher already left for the day. I was also rushing off, so I did not check on anything else.

He seemed rather sleepy so by 9pm, we made him sleep. A while ago (3 ish) he woke up crying for milk and mama. Gave him 240ml, he finished it quickly and shortly cried for more milk. Gave him another 120ml and then he falls back to sleep.

Is he hungry or just adjusting to new routines, environment that he is crying at nite. Feels a little bad that he is having some reactions to it but then again, it is inevitable. Just a phase they have to go through. Hope he adjust quickly to the CC.

So far, I think he is doing well except for the times when I have to leave. I was asked to say goodbye to him and tell him I will come back later ... this made him more aware that I am leaving, hence the reaction - crying, being upset. I tot I may just disappear but it seems it is not recommended.

It seems that he will revert to his playing quite quickly - once he is being distracted from thinking about me leaving him there. Other than this part, he is pretty fine there.

Still thinking if I am bringing him in tomorrow. Perhaps give him a break and let him have some space being at home? Afterall I am busy tomorrow as well. Let's see.

Finally get to play at the playground

ZQ : "I finally get to play at the playground on my way home! I love to attempt to climb up via this method. Mama always say that it is dangerous but papa leave me to climb. Mama will place her hands in front and behind me as she is afraid I will fall. She also told papa to do the same but papa is not so uptight.

Recently I also learnt to count in English and Mandarin to 20 but I only know up till ten sufficiently well. In English, I will skip "seven" cos I cannot pronounce 2 syllabus yet. Whenever I climb steps I will count in English. For Mandarin, mama will play a game with me ..... she will go "Yi", I will go "Er", then she goes "San", ...... we'll do it till "Shi" ..... after that, I will always say "Shi Si" (fourteen) .... cos both words sounds alike, it's easy. Every number after "Shi" is "Shi Si" ... so easy right? Mama always laugh when I say it, it's so cute.

See me in action ok? (Hmm, seems like the uploading of the video has some problems ... I'll check and repost)

Having fun at the CC

ZQ : "See how much fun I am having at the CC. My favourite toy .... never fail to play with it. Since most of my friends don't really fancy this toy, I can play with it all the time.

It's lots of fun here cos there are so many GeGe and Jie Jie and friends in my class. Though I don't quite like the food they provide and I cannot sleep much cos it's few hours ahead of my normal nap time, but overall I like the place.

When mama leaves me here, I feel sad and cry , scream for her but after a while, teacher will give me a toy phone to ring her. I am sure she knows that I am doing fine.

The friends here are a little weird ... they cry all the time. On my first day, I saw this girl who cried alot and I went over to sayang her. She still cry most of the time but stops sometimes, for about 10-20 seconds when the teachers give her attention. She is quite good with her sentence but I seem to hear only one - "I want to go papa, mama, gor gor there" .... hmm, while I am still struggling to speak in 2 syllabus, she is very good. *My idol - for the speech part only.

I get really hungry when I get home and sleepy too. Sometimes I will sleep on the way home. Since it had been raining, I did not get a chance to go to the outdoor playground, I really miss it. Hopefully on the way home, at the playground downstairs from YeiYei's house, mama can le me play a little while. In the middle of the nite, I had also been waking up to ask for milk. I am hungry .... i just drank 240ml + 120ml .... now I am back to my beauty sleep.

Update real soon! "

Initial days at the CC

Monday was the first day ZQ started his CC. So far he survived 2 days rather well but I was there most of the time on day 1, together with the maid too. ZQ was ok.

Day 1
******
Woke up early to go 2 CC. When ZQ reached the CC, he cannot wait 2 dash into the class.
Managed 2 get him screened by the teachers and he walked into the class like he is an old timer. There were some wailing kids who eventually stopped except one girl who is the oldest amongst the few toddlers. When ZQ saw them crying, he went over to them and sayang them. He is a peace loving kid and dislikes fights, loud noises.

He took abit of cereal for breakfast. For lunch, he ate part of the pasta. Nap - he could not sleep and I had to go off and leave my maid to make him sleep ... he took a while and managed some sleep. I came back after 2 hours and he was up and playing again. Looking happy, I was not too worried.

After he woke up, he wanted milk and as I was not around, maid also "skived" outside talking on her mobile .... he went to the trolley bag, took out the milk container, open it and then tried to scoop out the milk powder! The teacher only saw it then and prepared milk for him. It was because he din eat much for his lunch.

Everything went well and he had his dinner when we went home. At nite, we tried to get him to sleep earlier but it's a change in his daily routine so it took a while.

Day 2
*****
Hubby and I brought ZQ to CC today. Morning was ok, he did not eat his breakfast on the cab and when we reached, breakfast time was over. Later, he asked for milk and I had to give it to him cos he is hungry. The teacher said they try not to feed them anytime ... ya, but he did not eat his breakfast ... so she agreed.

Lunch, they gave rice with fish soup in mixed vegetables(pea, corn, carrots) which are things he does not like. So he only had 3 spoonful of rice and stopped eating. By lunch, we left him there cos we were distracting and the teacher advised us to come back later.

ZQ cried when we left but the teacher distracted him using a fake phone to call us. Teacher oso said that he din take his nap, followed the teacher and during her lunch, he wanted her food. She fed him some rice and soup and also the honeydew (which he rejected earlier) but this time she pretended that it is vv delicious, he ate it all up.

We returned around 4 ish and he was happily playing with the kids. Joined him until we left around 5ish. Once, I left to the washroom and he cried.

When we were on the way back, he KO. As I had to go buy something, I had to carry him. When hubby wanted to take over, he seems to know and refused, making alot of noise for the changeover. He is heavy - 14+ kg ... but well, he's my son, he "ain't" heavy ... haha.

Day 3
*****
Brought him in this morning alone. He had a pow for breakfast. Then when they had assembly, he refused to go, wanted to stay in the classroom to play. So I finally managed to bring him out. Shortly, the teacher came over and told me to say good bye and go off. I waved goodbye and left, ZQ was there wailing for me. Took my bag, din turn back and left .... now I am in the office typing this. On leave today but well, since, I cannot be there, then I might as well do some blog updates ;)

Be going back to check on him later.

I hope he will eat his lunch and also take his nap. Hope he can cope well cos now reality of mama not being there might start sinking in ..... hope he does not get too upset. He is a happy boy and I dun foresee him having much problem adapting. Let's pray I am right.

Playing with keys

It's time 2 keep the house key somewhere not within reach to ZQ. Not only does he know how to select the correct key and put it into the keyhole, he now knows how to turn it. He even locked us in the house .. until now. Due to the faulty door, he put the key into the maindoor from inside of the house, now I cannot open the door. I can only wait till hubby comes back and open from outside.

Look at how pro he is now .....

Stage where the kid learns to choose and be independent

Making own decisions
ZQ has learnt to express what he likes and what he doesn't. He has become choosy ... he choses his food, his DVD/VCD, his songs ... except his clothes.

He will normally nod his head when we ask him questions and only when he dun like it, he will shake his head. He also learns how to "Teh" with me ..... saying "Hmmmmmm" (in a teh voice) ... i faintz. Boyz, teh wat.

Being a good eater, he is also not eating properly recently. He loves soup and white rice ... no nutrition at all. We suspected that it was due to the Pork Floss that my MIL had been feeding him. I stopped her and requested she dun give it for every meal - I hope he will eat the dishes rather than just plain rice.

Maid also said recently he stopped drinking in the middle of the nite, I hope this continues. He seems to know that I am concerned ... so perhaps he wants mama not to worry too much about him? * I had been trying to tell him not to wake up at nite for milk. Hee. Such a dear. *This is called consoling onself. Hahaa.

Taking out his own shoes
ZQ is also vv good at taking out his own shoes now. Hiak hiak. Must train them to be independent young. Now he is so expert that he can even bend down to pull out his shoes when he reached home and I am still carrying him. Next, i wan him to learn to put on his shoes.

Washing hands upon returning home
ZQ knows that he has to wash his hands once he returns from outside. He will push the chair to the sink and then climb on top, pour the hand soup and wash his hands like an adult .... but gotta watch him that he dun push it to the window where the grills are not locked and also the risk of falling off if no one is supervising.

Shares his food
Since many months ago, ZQ started to share his snacks with the fanily. He will asked for cereal and then feed us with it. Aye, but sometimes, he will bite half of it and put the other half into my mouth. *Sweet but the thought is yuks.

Double syllabus words.
At the moment, ZQ can only say 1 syllabus words - except for those which are repeated syllabus - mostly chinese words.

For biscuits, he will go "Bi-ba bi-ba"
For Cereals, he will go "C"
For water, he will go "Wor"

ZQ sings the Do Re Mi song (first word only)

Sometimes we run out of ideas of what songs to sing with the kid, so, recently I remembered the Do Re Mi song and i started singing to ZQ. Amazingly, he can remember the Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Di , Do ..... So he will say the first word Do and I sing the sentence then he will continue with the next word, Re ... and so on until Do again. It's quite fun playing and singing with him in this manner. *Will try to post the video - hopefully sometime soon :)

Had also bought him some toys on shapes which I taught he does not know well cos often, when I show him the flash cards on shapes ... he looks disinterested and dun seem to be able to point to the correct shapes. When we got home with the shapes (wooden flat pieces which u place on the wooden board) - hubby started playing with him and next we realised that he actually knows all the shapes! They were just playing a speed game to place the pieces back to the board. And dear ZQ is so funny, he will try to place the pieces in and when he realised that it is at the wrong place (ie Oval shape he was trying to fit into the Circle shape) , he will mumble to himself "No no .... " .. then try another place.

Tried on the ABC ones but he is not too keen cos the pieces are rather small - prob keep it for a while later. Perhaps I can go get the color ones?

Latest update on ZQ

Been a while since I've posted some real updates on ZQ.

I guess he is at this stage where they learn alot of things quite fast. He has started talking but mainly single syllabus words which are repeated. Chinese hence becomes easier to teach at this point. Recently I taught him numbers 1-10 in both mandarin and english. He will repeat the words one by one after me ... of course he cannot pronounce "seven" very well but the other words he can say pretty ok.

Last Sat, we were at a friend's house and there are some steps within the house. ZQ got interested and kept going up and down the steps. On his own accord, he started counting "One, two, three" and I was delighted. Of course there are some other kids of his age - the genius Jayden who is way ahead but well, ZQ is on schedule .. haha. So he kept going up and down the steps repeating One, two , three. Last nite, he actually can count up to ten on his own. We are all happy to see his progress. I guess it doesn;'t matter when but when it happens, it brings joy to the family. He is such a cute little boy.

Now I am waiting for him to count 1-10 in mandarin .. haha.

I have to credit this to the constant repetition through games, interaction sections with him. For recognising things, he is pretty ok but for recognising words, he is not too good. I guess different children learn differently. He is not interested to look at words ... so my words flash cards are still lying around untouched.

He has grown much ... it feels that he is almost 90cm ... din get to measure him but he really looks big for his age. Still at 13.5kg, he is eating very well. Attempted to cut his middle of the nite feed of 240ml but he is still not willing to give it up

Marathon Charity Swim from Batam to Singapore - 11 Nov

A hectic weekend just passed. Hubby and a group of other ten swimmers - 11 swimmers swam on 11/11/2007 from Batam to Singapore. A total of 20 km was the original distance but in the end they swam more as the tides were pretty strong. When they were nearing SAF Yatch Club, they were swept by the strong currents towards the restricted zone and even the navy was alerted and on a few occassions, it triggered the siren. Finally it took them 7-8 hours to complete the swim.

It was definitely not an ordinary achievement. Who would dream of swimming such a distance and imagine from Batam! I had taken the boat ride to Batam and it is already a long enough journey. Imagine to swim that distance? On top of that, the kind of huge gigantic sea transports they have to be mindful of - the tankers, the ships, speedboats, sails, surfs .... and not to imagine the strong currents from Indonesia waters to International waters to Singapore. What about those sea creatures which might pose a danger to them? The jelly fishes, sea snakes .... and the unnatural items - plastic bags, oil spills, seaweeds, floating stuffs. One really takes a lot of courage to simply even imagine doing that swim - not to say, complete it.

Seeing them eventually complete the course one by one was a relieve and admiration. I have problem completing 1 km, not to say 20 times of that or more. I am happy that things went really well on Sun and no mishap occurred. The success of this swim means more of such in the future and more work for me ..... (having body aches and legs are aching big time), however, if it means to raise more funds to help the kids in Singapore, what is my little effort compared to the swimmers who braved the sea to swim that distance despite all the odds to do their bit for charity.

Birthday

My birthday just passed this week. Took a day out and we brought ZQ for a swim, he had good fun. While he was sleeping in the afternoon, hubby and I took time out for a buffet high tea at Goodwood park hotel - it's quite an enjoyable time and been a long time since we've done this after ZQ's birth. Should do this more often.

Having had our high tea, we went to sim lim square to look for some electronic gadgets. Had always wanted to have another slim camera as my current one is rather big - though it has good fetures, zoom, etc but it is cumbersome to bring it around. Hubby was also looking for one for his office. In the end, he bought a Casio Exilim with 7x zoom. It's quite cool and has quite shutter speed which is something he is looking for. The best part of it is that he has had a vv good bargain for it.

We shopped for it and the price started with 500+, went up to 600+ and in the end we bought it at 400+ - difference from the various shops was about $200 and some only 1 GB card but we got 2 GB. Hubby also bought an extra battery. It was fun and I did not know that the prices can vary so great - in fact, the camera we bought costs $669 in major shopping centres with 1GB card . So far we had been using it and it is fine.

Harvey Norman had a sale at Expo too and the price is at $669 .. so i wonder what kind of sale do u call it if they are selling it at the same price as any other shops.

Anyway, for Sim Lim, it is good to check around and also find out what are the freebies that comes with the deal, it differs from shop to shop. I must admit that electronic goods are so cheap in Singapore and we can easily afford them.

Regarding savings in price, that depends on if you have the time and energy to go scout around, else it is better to buy it at major shopping centres.

Talking about gadgets - ha, i have not buy birthday gift yet ... since hubby bought a camera for himself i can always borrow it. If i buy one for myself then we have too many cameras at home as he also just bought an SLR recently but does not know how to fully utilise it. Now i have to start looking around for another useful electronic gadget *thinking hard.

Evening, we had a cake cutting celebration where ZQ practiced his cake blowing again. He loves to blow the candles, singing birthday song, clapping.

ZQ looks like me - the nose and the mouth

Today a fren commented that ZQ looks like me - I am delighted. Few people in fact think that ZQ is my son, not even to say that he looks like me in any way. I hope my fren is not just humouring me (ahem, you know who you are) Then again, of course he looks like me .... he's my son u know. :)

Once, I brought him to a gathering with a group of mommies and their babies and one of the Ah-ma (grandma) spoke to me when I was carrying ZQ and she asked me "Which employer do you work for ah?" - shan't mention which mommy ... hehhe. I replied "Aye, this one is my son and my maid is standing over there". She felt so apologetic that she even apologised to me again on our next gathering.

Another time, I brought ZQ with my maid to a coffeeshop in chinatown. It was raining cats and dogs and I went to the counter to ask the cashier on directions to go somewhere in mandarin. She then said "Wa, your mandarin very good hor" - She tot that I was a maid bringing the kid and meeting up with another maid.

Even recently, I bought a TV and when the few young boys (prob working part time) came to deliver the TV, one of them asked me .... (note: at this point, my maid was carrying ZQ standing at the side) ... "Where is your madam? Is she home yet?". I almost flipped and told him "I am the mam".

Moral of the story : I better start dressing up and not be vv "LOC KOK" else if I were to go out with my hubby and ZQ, I might be mistaken as the maid.
Note : My maid is probably leaving for canada(if she passes her interview next week) and in reality, i am gonna assume the maid role in the near future. Same role but no pay!

Lying down on the floor

Recently I was so tired while playing with ZQ that I decided to just lie down on the hard floor. ZQ saw it and started imitating me. He tried lying down but his head will hit on the hard floor and I had to teach him how to lie down sideways.

These few weeks he had perfected his new stunt on lying down on the hard floor and he was proud to show it to me. Suddenly lying down and then smile to me. Of course, i praised him for being so clever to learn how to lie down on the floor without knocking on his head. Once, he even did it in the SK library - so dirty! Had to stop him but he insisted and so proud of it. Later, he started scratching his back ..... cos the carpet is really unclean if u ask me.

Chinese

Recently, ZQ learnt to say Xie Xie (thank you), BaBa(Papa), MaMa(mama) and many more. Here's how he says Papa, Xie Xie and Mama - I tot he sounded quite nice.

Ba Ba(Papa), Xie Xie (thank you)

Ma Ma (mama)

Going 19 months

Some things to record about ZQ at this stage of his life.

1. He is good at listening to instructions.
He is still obedient, hoping that his terrible 2 will not start soon. Still enjoying him very much.
2. He will take a cloth from the kitchen and wipe off the water if the floor is wet.
Often, it is caused by himself. Well, this is what I call creating work for oneself to do from nothing, hence, creating work. Isn’t tat what a lot of people are doing in the office?
3. He will pick up rubbish from the floor, table and throw it in the waste paper bin.
Sometimes I suspect if he is a clean freak in the making. He will find dirt, rubbish and then picks it up, go to the wastebin in the next room and throw it in. He has also learnt a bad habit from my MIL where he will rhrow it out of the window! I stopped him and told him not to ….. well, they are really learning a lot of things from us especially the bad ones.

Once I said “Shit” and next, we heard him repeating after me … I had to remind myself not to say this too casually.

4. When we tell him to say “yes” … instead of yes, he will say the word “Say” … so funny.
Somewhat I discover that he learns Chinese faster … perhaps it’s because at my IL house, we speak mainly mandarin.
Words he learnt
a) Flower – Hua. When I say flower, he says “Hua” – faintz.
b) Cat – Mao. He will say Mao Mao instead of cat – I hope he will not be confused in the future.
c) He knows BaBa, MaMa, YeYe, NaiNai, GuGu, Bao Bao, WaWa … also with his XieXie (thank you) haha, all the double words. Now he is learning to pronounce the words and some actually sound quite nice.
5. He can now eat by himself.
Had started training him earlier but when I came to my IL place, my MIL will not allow him to eat as she feels it’s messy. Only quite recently that he was given the freedom to explore himself. What can I say about different methods of bringing up the kid.
6. He can now pick different sets of keys and find the key to the gate, put it in.
He is short of learning how to turn it round 2 times! He can prob do it once. This is a real worry as he is rather tall and can access things on the table and sometimes climb on a chair (risky stunt) to retrieve things. Worried that he might just open the gate one day and walk out. Been telling them not to teach him or even let him see by accident how they turn the key and open the gate and of course, to keep the keys in a location not accessible by him.
6. He has learnt to say “Muak” and kissing with the loud muak sound.

7. He also knows how to say “Ha Ha” …. Sounds like an adult ....
Once, my maid was teaching him the Fiddle Diddle song and she said “The dog laughed” and goes “Ha Ha” …. He remembers and each time we say laughed … he will go “Ha Ha”.
Off the head, these are his progress updates.

8.
He has learnt to stretch his hands into the armhole of his clothes.
9. He can remember where things are placed and even recognise which clothes is for whom.
My MIL and maid said that sometimes he will point to some of our clothes and say "BaBa", "Mama", "YeYe" ... so he actually knows who it belongs to.
10. He seems to remember where things are being placed too and he would try to put it back to the same position.
My hubby took a clock in my room down and left it on the table and ZQ discovered that it is not on the wall where we hang, he brought the clock to me and kept pointing to it and say "clock clock" ... so we had to put it back in place ... without the battery cos it was irritating my hubby's beauty tat's why he took it down in the first place.

Tarzan in the making?

Often when ZQ screams or making very loud noises, we'd ask him to do this. This distracts him and he will not continue to make a fuss. It works wonders. There are other times when he attempts to bite us and we'll say kiss kiss, in the end, he will kiss instead of biting. Of course there are accidents when we did not manage to distract him in time.

Museum

Went to the museum yesterday. ZQ seems to enjoy himself a great deal - not looking at the stuff but playing with the curtains.

Turning round and round

ZQ loves turning round and round nowadays.

Wheneven my hubby walks in front of him and faces him, talking to him ... ended up walking backwards, ZQ will also imitate. See him in action!

16 Tooth!

Forgot to track how long it had been since ZQ had his 16 tooths all grown out. Just realised that for this stage, it's completed.

Gotta check why his front teeth has some bit of white on it ... perhaps it was due to his bad fall when he was younger ... twice he fell and it knock on the hard floor ... and it bled badly .. full mouth of blood. It was rather scary and I remembered the ancient way of stopping blood flow - that is to put sugar into his mouth. His first taste of sugar was at a tender age of 4-5 months.

ZQ has a beautiful smile with his 2 little cute dimples which I strongly believe is inherited from me - otherwise it seems there's nothing much he inherits from me. He is a photocopy of his father except that he is much cuter.

He now tries to brush his own teeth but he is not good at it, hence we still have to brush it for him using the gloove and he bites real hard on it. Not an easy task sometimes. Though he drinks alot of water but his mouth sometimes stinks n perhaps that's due to his cough and the medicine he is taking.

This reminds me to start bringing him to see a dentist ... it's never to late to start young, isn't it?

18 months' jab

Took a day of leave on Sep 11 to bring ZQ for his 18th months' jab. Met happy and clara on the way to the clinic. Haha, what a day 2 bring him to do his jab .... this mama had been busy with work and did not bring him for his scheduled jab last Sat. As I was still coughing and not getting any better, I also went to get some meds for myself, killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

As the clinic is in Seng Kang, I had to travel from Clementi back home. The journey is a long one and sometimes ZQ cannot take long rides - like mama here. So far, he had once or twice puke when he took long rides. Unfortunately, this time I had to experience his puke when we were almost there, Yuks! He was drinking his milk and suddenly he puke all over me and in the taxi. I then had to clean him, clean myself and the taxi before I alighted. Smelled damn bad.

Did not have the luxury to get home to change first as i had to go to the clinic first else my trip is waste. Washed myself a little in the washroom but still the milk puke remains on me ..... haha, i cannot smell it anymore but it was the nurse who asked if ZQ puked earlier. Hehe, cannot hide.

ZQ is vv strong now and he did cry for a little while after he had his jab. The entire day, he was feeling normal until at 11plus at nite, his fever went up to 37.5 and was rising so I fed him meds.

Things are well so far and ok, another milestone passed. He now weights 12.9 kg @ 85.5cm

ZQ's 2nd trip to the Zoo

ZQ @ 18 months - 2nd trip VS ZQ @ 7th month - 1st trip

Went to the Singapore Zoo on Sunday but it was almost 2pm when we reached there. This is the 2nd time ZQ is visiting the zoo and it seems like yesterday that we first brought him there ... each scene feels so recent ... it was almost ten months ago (last Oct) when we brought him there but as the saying goes - times flies. It really seems like yesterday.

A new milestone - ZQ is 18 months old

Today, ZQ had turned 18 months. Time flies. From a newborn to a toddler , it's really amazing to see the process on how he had grown. I am really enjoying each day of him - he is really such a darling - it's amazing how much fun, laughter and joy he has brought.

Let me sing him a birthday song and watch him blow the candles. I hope he will grow up strong and healthy, sporty and charming like his father and have certain of my good qualities (which i paiseh to mention here and he has got to find out himself ;)) I also hope he grows up to be a good and kind person and one who will have good values and be successful in his life. Whatever he does, he will do it wholeheartedly - as his name suggests. Quan as in Quan2 Bu4 -- to give his all.

Dumb and dumber (haircut in Apr 07)

I am really not kidding when I wrote that ZQ's haircut by my maid looks like Dumb and dumber ... here's proof. hahaha. Of course, he had already outgrown that horrendous hairstyle la.
So Mommy Mission, dun complain about your handsome son's haircut by the professional. So far, my ZQ is cut by both the 3 "professionals" at home - my maid, my MIL and myself.
So far, I proudly declare that I am the best barber. hehhe. Will post his latest pic soon.

Haircut

Mommy Mission complained about his ZY's ah Wang hairstyle ... this mommy here jus gave ZQ a haircut while he was sleeping. Quite difficult to gauge lor.

Papa says not easy to cut his hair when he is awake and it seems that no one else had the time to do it ... so I took out the scissors and comb and just did it. Quite short but not as short as the one that my maid cut for him right after his birthday .... he looked like dumb and dumber alright.

Haircut by my maid. Will post his latest one ... short but I think not as bad as this one .. haha

2nd trip - Desaru

Went to Desaru recently and Pulai Desaru is quite a decent place. Hubby went there not to take part (he's out of form) but to support a friend who was bringing his daughter - and we're there to help look after her while he races.
ZQ had a fun time at the beach, playing with the sand. The sand is the sticky sort, pretty hard to get rid of it - see his hand full of the sticky sand.

The new art of cleaning & his old art of spitting

ZQ has recently mastered the art of wiping ... he will help to wipe up after he finishes -- sometimes. With his earlier mastering on his art of spitting water, now he can hold the water in his mouth and spit it out "very far" -- *headache. Well, he will mess up, spitting water then point to the floor and tell us it's wet. We'd teach him to use a cloth to wipe it in case he falls down.

First he says "more more" to ask for more water so he can spit it out ... *sigh.

Next, he will wipe it up.

Underwater World

Both hubby and I were on leave and we brought ZQ to his first Sentosa's underwater world experience. We were planning on an overseas short trip or a chalet but due to last minute planning, most of the local chalets are booked. Hence, we ended up at Underwater world.

Hadn't been there since a long time ago and as ZQ is going 18 months, he can probably appreciate the sea creatures better. ZQ had fun today playing at the touchpool and with the StingRay especially.

See how daring the little boy is ....... at first ....

Look what he does after he realises the potential "danger" ..... and the clever boy discovers the usefulness of his papa's hands. So clever hor?

Viral fever

Contracted viral fever for 5 days with fever roller coastering between 38-40. For a long time I had not fallen ill and since ZQ's fever episode, I am still not prepared for it. Saw the doc, took the medicine but fever did not improved. 3rd day, went to get a blood test to ensure it is not dengue as we were at Desaru the weekend before and if I am hit, it should surface at this time.
Thank goodness it turned out to be -ve.

I had high fever plus bad sore throat, infected eye and ear. No fun.
Today, I am better and red eyes had gone down alot but still coughing slightly.

I hope that I will not fall sick for a long long time to come.

ZQ's fever episode

ZQ ran a fever between 37-38+ recently and I discovered that I, rather the family is ill prepared for such situations. Being a rather healthy boy, he seldoms fall sick and hence, I had forgotten what to expect during fevers. So long it's not >39, it should be quite safe.

We gave him fever medication but the fever went up and down, it seems forever and he is not getting well. Brought him to the doc when it went up to 39 degrees and discovered that he might have contracted dengue when doc asked if he had different color stool, namely black. I had never seen black stool in my life but yet, my maid said yes, he have had black stool twice that day. I flipped and chided her for not telling me such important information. How often does one see black stool? and she thought it was the black raisin she gave him - prob alot I guess, to think that she'd associate that to the black stool.

Did his blood test the following day as doc says ZQ is still ok except the high temperature and no dengue was found. What a relief.

Bottomline : I am gonna make a what i'd call a "no brainer steps" manual so that we'd follow certain instructions when fever strikes again.
Things which the family (hubby, myself, maid, father in law, mother in law) disagrees on in handling the fever were :-
1. When to give what med (paracetomol & ibrufen) and when to stop giving med
2. How to cool the kid down when fever runs too high (hot bath? cold water bath? sponge)
3. Keep warm? Keep cool?
4. Fan? No fan? Fan at what speed
5. Socks? no socks?

It was WW3 but someone had to make a decision and of course comes the responsibility.
So i'd recommend a manual (Mi Ji) so no one panicks when it happens - thanks to my years of training. Better get it out soon.

Sleeping with the little one

Been a while since ZQ slept in my room - his cot in my room was dismantled to avoid cluttering up the place as he sleeps in the bigger cot in my maid's room. In addition, we did not want him to have the habit of being used to sleeping in our room and difficult to shift him to his own room in the future.

Heard of "horror" stories that some kids sleep with their parents till they are few years old and worst, sleep in between the parents. Worst still, some "chase" the daddy off the bed and have the mommies to themselves, daddy sleeps on a mattress on the floor. Well, that's the last thing I would want to happen to us, hence, I allow ZQ to sleep in my maid's room. We used to take turns but it became convenient as my maid can get him to sleep within 10-15 mins. Me? 1 hour.

It's really nice (a nice feeling actually) to have him sleep on the same bed but in physical, both hubby n I find it a little too cramp. Now we do not have fear of squashing him as he is already 84cm">12.5kg@ >84cm. In fact, I felt I was being squeezed out of the bed when he was turning about on the bed. Not forgetting that my hubby is not exactly small.

Hwr, he woke up at 6+, 8+ , both of each I gave him milk and he stopped his fuss. I tried just to pacify him but it did not work and eventually I gave milk. I had been telling my maid to try not to give him milk in the middle of the night but after last night, now, my theory of just feeding him water will remain a theory .... ZQ will make a big fuss until milk is given. In fact, he even woke up and until I told him I am making him milk, he did not stop his fuss.

Nonetheless, it was still great to sleep with my son. Told hubby that we should do this more often. Hwr, with us staying at my in laws place most of the time, the super single bed surely does not have space for him to squeeze with me. Perhaps I might try and who knows, it will enhance the closeness with me ... haha, not that he is not close with me. Just my feeling of him being closer to me .. not sure if this is a pitfall of those mommies who tries to break the habit of leaving the kid to sleep with them.

Perhaps it is just a feeling? I think that so long before they sleep, we spent enough time with them, communicate with them & love them, their sleeping moments do not really matter. It might even be better for them to sleep by themselves as it teaches them independence when they wake up by themselves at night and they can get themselves back to sleep :) Sometimes I feel ZQ do not sleep well with us as he does not have the space he has on his own bed to toss and turn and spread himself out like a king!

So much for ZQ sleeping with me ... agreed with hubby that we could do this a little more often on weekends - if it does not cause us our beauty sleep, ZQ can look forward to sleeping more with daddy and mommy :) Perhaps it's the other way round -- mommy looking forward to sleeping with ZQ. Hopefully, ZQ's beauty sleep is not disrupted.

Jurong Bird Park

Celebrated ZQ GuGu's birthday at the birdpark on Sunday. ZQ enjoyed himself alot during the bird show and slept afterwhich. Look at his pic ... with the bird in the background ... haha. Proof of being at the birdpark.
Grandpa says this is not a vv good pic as there's a bird above his head .. from a photographer's point of view. Well, i still uploaded this cos i think ZQ is quite cute.

Our new DSLR

Some pics taken with our new DSLR .. pretty satisfied with the outcome. Hubby and I had been "fighting" on who is a better photographer ... well, with such advancements in technology, does skill really count?

About trip in Batam

It was a short 2 day 1 nite trip. Upon arrival, we went to the jetty and beach, which was the most enjoyable part of the short trip. Papa is in Batam to discuss some official work matters, so during that period, mama was trying to get ZQ to sleep but failed badly.

For reasons I do not understand, ZQ was a little irritable and making alot of noise. Decided to bring him out to the marina to look at the yatchs but papa came back in time for the rescue.
He decided that we are going to Batam Matahari for some shopping ... so we went .. but din buy anything in the end.

Got back and ZQ was already sleeping. However, in the middle of the night, he woke up very irritated by the mosquitoes which had bitten him on his face, his ear, hands, legs. He started crying and was trying to sleep. To my horror, I discovered 3 blood stains on the part of the bed where ZQ slept on and 3 blood stains on his T-shirt. We checked him and concluded that it was the dead mosquitoes which ZQ somewat managed to kill in his sleep. It was after another 2 hours that we got the hotel staff to Bygone the room and we got back to sleep in peace.

I named him the King of Mosquitoe killer. He even learnt how to "catch" the mosquitoes when he saw us trying to catch and kill the mosquitoe.

So that was our first overseas trip. Hope the next will be better.

ZQ's first chop in his passport

ZQ first overseas trip to Batam. He was ok throughout the trip and more managable than I imagined. Without my maid, I imagine I'd have a tough time but surprisingly, he was alright except once, when hubby was away for a meeting. He keep making noises and I really dunno what to do with him so decided to bring him out for a walk instead of waiting in the room for hubby to come. ZQ was sleepy but din wan to sleep. While preparing, hubby came back from meeting.

It's late and have work tomorrow moring, will post more on the trip again.

Jealousy?

ZQ knows how to do this even months ago. When one of carry him and the other put our hand on the other's shoulder, ZQ will push the hand away. He seemed to be jealous. We used to think wah, he so young oredi know ... such is human nature. But recently, I decided that it's time to "educate" him and tell him that this is incorrect. Else in future if he is going to have a younger sibling, how would he treat the sibling?

Children are to be taught and taught properly.

New teeth

ZQ is growing new teeth again. He had 8 since he was 9 months old and recently he had new ones coming out. It was top 2 and another bottom 2. I think he has even more but now since he does not allow us to anyhow open his mouth to view his teeth, it is quite difficult to monitor. Jus remember to brush his teeth lor.

Dawn and her baby came over 2 play with ZQ but ZQ already fast asleep before 10pm. Dawn's baby is so clever, can already call papa, mama, sing some humming ... she has a good language ability.

1 week to 16 months

2 weeks since i last posted. Quite an achievement cos the last time i really blog was months ago .. hehe. Some updates on ZQ.

Did not develop any fever from MMR but he had some rashes instead. It is almost gone now and so far, he did not show sign of discomfort, thank goodness.

Not sure if I am turning him into an human zoo ... haha. I taught him animals like any parent would do ... that is, I say Dog -- wow wow wow, Cat - meow meow meow, Cow - moo moo moo , etc.. realised that instead of learning how to say Dog, Cat, Cow ... he started responding wow wow wow when I say Dog and meow meow meow when I say Cat. Almost a year ago, i met a fren whose son was 18 months and my fren was so excited to demonstrate that his son is vv cute (he is!) and clever to know how to make animal sounds and the actions. It was quite funny watching him but later on, I thought she was turning him into a human zoo. He was making all the sounds with actions! Imagine when she says Monkey .... To think that I am now following in her footsteps and ZQ is turing into an ......... Oh gosh!

Now he can speak 2 syllabus words like "No more" showing the sign that there's no more. He can also hold the cordless phone and listen to us for a longer period and sometimes seemingly trying to respond.

His backward walking stunt is also improving by the day. I thought he is going to abandon that habit when he gets older but well, he seems to improve it. Walking backwards faster! He also did not forget his winking especially when he sees a pretty lady. It was my maid who taught him that.

I guess toddlers at this age has very good memories. I had installed a metal gate to block him from going into the kitchen and he learnt that the door is always closed. Sometimes, he will even pull the gate and close it. So no worries about him going into the kitchen.

ZQ also knows how to point to things in the house like table, chair, flower, fish, ball, bicycle. He also recognises the soft toys in the house ie Poo Bear, Piglet, Snake, Froggie. He will also hug Piglet in a very sweet manner, and since he was able to grab Poo Bear, he will bite its nose, which he still do. He learnt where the switches are and will turn it on and off.I had to tape them up so he does not do it without our knowledge. In fact, months ago, he even know how to plug the stopper we plugged in to block it.

Now he even more clever. These few days, we started giving him raisin bread from Gardenia. This evening he asked for bread and i gave him some. He actually "plucked" out the raisin and gave me the plain bread! I faintz. It is vv nice of him to share his things, which, he will give me his apples and he wil not take a no for an answer. Mama here had to tell him "Darling, mama is full, see .... (point to my stomach) ... mama is full, you eat it ok?". Of course, sometimes I may not be so lucky to escape his saliva filled "food" he offers to me. Hmm, no choice right?

He seems to like chinese "Er Ger" like Xiao Lao Shu, Xiao Bai Tu and even Li Bai's (I think) .. Chuan Qian Ming Yue Guang ... hahha. Hope he does not turn out to be chi-na in future. Advice from experienced parents is that it is more difficult to learnt chinese, hence we have to expose them earlier. As for English, they learn it fast when they start going school.

It's really so much fun every day coming back hom after work and play with him. The only downside is that I do not have time for anything else. By the time he sleeps, it is 10pm and I only have that much time before I rest for the day. I must say that IT IS WORTH IT. There's so much joy in watching him and seeing him grow everyday. I hope that I dun miss this part of him that grows so fast each day.

No wonder people says that motherhood is one of the greatest thing that can happen to a woman. To all married ladies who has yet to become a mama, I wish that they'll soon be able to experience this bundle of joy.

MMR jab completed

Yippe, ZQ finally had his MMR jab this morning. Almost din have the jab cos when I reached the doc this morning, discovered that he had a slight runny nose and maid also forgot 2 bring his health booklet --- cannot imagine! In the end, went to see the doc first and he was given the green light cos he did not have fever. Got maid 2 return home to pick up the health booklet.

It was a good thing that both papa and myself was there for the jab. ZQ cried rather loudly for the first time when he gets his jab. Normally he might cry for a vv short while and if we distract him, he is ok but this time, it took him 5 mins. I pity him but well, the nurse was vv quick.

ZQ is now 83.5cm @ 11.7 kg -- i tot he was only 80cm. Tall boy -- heng, just like papa!

Yesterday, papa decided to rush his work and at 12 plus he smsed me to say I got my wish and he was already on the way home to pick ZQ for his jab. However, I had already got my maid 2 call up 2 change the appt to this morning! Papa also spent a bomb on some stuff he likes -- he was so unlike the day before when we argued about his wasting time on bringing ZQ for his jab. Well, so long he is happy. I am glad that he made the efforts to do this for his son. 3 cheers for his papa ;)

Recently ZQ also suffered from some rashes. Seen a doc yesterday and also counter checked witht the doc this morning, they said it is prob heat rash - got him the pricky heat powder. Hope it works.

I managed to take an afternoon nap today -- a rare thing for me. ... haha, that's why i am still awake now. FIL came over in the late afternoon. He was happy that ZQ now can go hug him and kiss him on his cheek. ZQ also knows how to share his food. He will eat his apple, bread and then put it into our mouth. It is a very nice gesture for a kid his age but then for the adults --- hmm, imagine the saliva on it? But grandpa took his apple gracefully. Hahaa, can't say if it is other people -- wonder who.

ZQ loves grandpa (Yeye) alot. He is happy to see Yeye and wanting yeye to carry him, play with him. ZQ is always laughing and playing. His latest stunt is to walk tiptoed -- like a ballerina. I wonder where he picks it from. It's a learning phase.

I don't know what other parents are teaching their toddlers of this age now but since I don't have a TV at home, I cannot let his waking time be replaced by the square box with some other entertainments. Neither can I leave him to just walk around the house doing the same thing that he is doing from Mon to Fri - i doubt my maid also has lots of new interesting things to keep him busy, haha, but she certainly had taught him alot of things so far and I am happy with that .... I do sometimes try to find new things to amuse him. Of course I will reuse those that tickles him until he gets bored with it.

ZQ 15 months old

So much about lamenting in ZQ's blog. Let's talk about happy things.
Yesterday (now it's Friday) we sang Happy Birthday to ZQ for his 15th month - he was happy.

ZQ is a vv good and rather managable boy. He had totally forgotten his pacifier within 3-4 days, all thanks to my maid. He does not even remember it now. I am really happy cos I dun wan his teeth to be crooked and dun wan him to be dependent on it for security.

Now I am trying to cut his habit of drinking milk before he sleeps - for his teeth's sake. We normally give him water after his milk but sometimes he falls asleep before he finishes his milk and no way to drink anymore water. He will KO like a log very quickly. I have to plan for this to happen. Things don't happen overnight without planning and who does the planning? It's the mamas. Like previous, my parents in law was so happy to see him able to slide down from his bed, thinking he vv clever. I told them it was a week of my "training".

Kids, you need to teach them and teach them good things. Papa loves to do funny actions and oh my, ZQ picks it up too! I had to tell him not to do -ve actions, like throwing things cos it's easy for them to learn bad habits.

I've train him to put things back to their original place. To listen to simple instructions like take your shoes, take the books, put it back, spit the water. He knows and understands very well.
My maid also has a big part to play. She trained him to tell her when he wants to pee or poo, to lift his hands, legs when putting on and taking off clothes. She even taught him how to kiss us on our cheek! it's so heartwarming to know that ZQ is capable of doing these things now and my maid is teaching good things to him. She taught him to say I love you ;)

I was going through the ABC chart with him and he loves it when I say Elephant and use my hand to make the elephant trunk and make also the sound. Nowadays, he is fully capable of telling us what he does not want -- shaking his head vigourously. If he wants it, he will go ek ek ek or worst, roll on the floor (a behaviour I wan to improve) -- i ignore him and he knows to stop when there's no response. hahha.

He also loves this Teletubby toy passed down from my SIL. He can even say the words Bam bam bam. He is speaking quite a bit now and repeating the words, sometimes surprising even us. Few weeks back, he actually said "I'm fine". Maid always teach him "How do you do, I'm fine, thank you" -- her english lesson taken in Philippines. One time, he repeated that after her and my hubby heard.

ZQ will purposely drop things, put his fingers in his nose and turn to me to see me react. He laughs when I tell him Nooooooo ........ he thinks it's funny.

He loves to stand on my bed and play catching with me, running towards the headboard.
He can even now take of his shoes.
He is very friendly to everybody, even strangers. He does not cry if anyone plays with him or talks to him, in fact, he will laugh and makes them vv happy.
He looks bigger than his age and even older toddlers gets scared of by him. He is so friendly that he wants to hug them but they will get scared off.
He's now 12kg @ 80cm - maid and I think he had put on weight. Maid's fren said he had but we still live in denial and say, not vv much la. Thanks to my maid who always fed him biscuits / bread when he wants and he ate alot! Until i discover and told her to stop. I said I dun wan a fat fat boy in the future as this will affect him his whole life.

Jus heard ZQ crying (short one) in his sleep -- must be the argument i had with papa - is ZQ having bad dreams? i am so sorry. I hope his dreams are happy ones. God please bless him.

Walk at Riverside Walk

Riverside Walk, Clark Quay

Brought ZQ to Clark Quay tonight. Actually, maid won the 1D lucky draw at Audio House so we tot we'll go so she can exchange her voucher to buy something else. In the end, she lost the left side of ZQ's shoe :( in the taxi i think. Hope we can get it back since the owner of the taxi is my IL's neighbour.

He enjoyed himself as he managed to play with water at Riverside walk. So happy to see tat he is always smiling, laughing and having fun. It brings joy to those around him as well.

Will post his video of his fun at Clark Quay.

The place has changed alot and it's quite a refreshing change.

School holidays

Alas, it's my break in between jobs and it had to fall on a school holidays. Wanted to go somewhere for a short break before I embark on my new job but unable to find anywhere to go ... it's all fully booked! Now I have a taste of the school holiday rush even long before I need to do such planning. In future, I have to really book in advance to avoid disappointing the kid .. haha, something to remember. *Perhaps when i refer to this blog years down the road?
Well, gotta make do with some simple things to do in Singapore then.
Prob go Sentosa, Ubin(?) or perhaps just bring him to Clementi swimming pool, haha.
So free this week .... hmm, shall post more of his pics.

The old is gone, the new has come

Today is my last day with my current company. I am happy because though I am working there, doing my daily duties, I am not a happy worker. Mainly becos of colleagues, it's not the workload. Sometimes it's disheartening to see how ugly humans can become when it comes to office politics. Politics is not my cup of tea nor interest, hence, I decided to bail out - find a new job. Politics are inevitable but it's just the intensity of it. I pray that my new place will have minimal of that culture. Banking industry is one of the toughest place for survival I guess. Today, I shall put down the old past and move on to the new future.

Was at Vivo and met Per with her little Tri who is walking very well and steady. It's a pity that they din get to meet as my maid has not arrive with ZQ yet.

As I was mentioning in the forum that how fast the kid is growing.
Apart from the papa, mama, he can now utter quite alot of words like
1. Go go go
2. Bread
3. Cold, Hot
4. Ye Ye, Nai Nai
5. Ball
6. Clock
7. Moon

He can
1. Slide down from the slide on tummy
2. Show one finger when my maid ask him how old he is
3. Point to body parts
4. Stomp his feet
5. Gargle water -- playing with water and then swallow it (separate from brushing his teeth)
6. Spit water after brushing his teeth
7. Throw a basketball forward
8. Push his pram
9. Take out the shoe's Valcro
10. Bring the pair of shoe to you to put it on to him
11. Point to the bread on the table
12. Lift up his feet to wear pants, and hands when wearing/taking out his t-shirts
13. Recognise softtoys
14. understand 2-3 words spoken.
15. Wink his eyes
16. Point to the moon, tree, light, etc.

He seems to understand what we say and I think he also felt understood. Cos each time he makes some movements, sometimes other people around don't quite understand him but I think I do. He will bring this book on numbers and ask me to read it to him. However, he will make noise even when I am reading it .. until i realised that he wanted me to sing a "Bee" song as I had sung that song when I go to that number .. it has eight bees on it. He sure knows what he wants.

He is a vv happy boy, laughing at every little silly expressions. I thank God for him for being such a blessing to me and my hubby.

Freedom

It's been 4 months since I've done my last posting. I hope that with my new job I can have a little more time to update the blog on my little darling. He's grown so much and changed so much since the last blog.

Now he's 11kg @80cm. He's grown so much that he's no longer a baby but to me, he's always my baby. ZQ never fail to amuse me and he really bring joy into my life. I really thank God for babies.

His recent changes, he learnt to wink wink, everybody around are happy cos he wink wink to them ...he also can wave bye bye, hi5. Recently I taught him to spit out water after I brush his teeth. Though it's an edible toothpaste, it's quite fun that he learnt quickly how to spit out the water. Of course, sometimes he still drinks the water from the cup, hence I used boiled cool water for that purpose.

In recent days, he also started to walk backwards. Haha, he is quite steady walking since 1 year old and now he is vv good at the playground. Climbing up and sliding down. In fact, at 11th month, my maid let him do it and I was rather apprehensive abt it until one day, I brough him down and he really slide down himself. Quite cool for a baby barely 1 year old .. hhee.

Today, we did another milestone. I decided to let him go diaperless at home. I read from the forum that some mommies tried and ask the toddler to inform them if they wan to go poo poo or wee wee. We told ZQ that if he wants to wee wee, he got to tell us and of course at 30mins to 1 hour interval, we bring him to wee wee. He understood and he actually went to find my maid when he wanted to wee wee. At night, when we brough him downstairs to the playground, he wet his underwear. But well, for a first timer, he is quite good oredi ;) I am looking forward to the diaperless days ahead .... can save more $$, hee.

Dunno since when, he had taken a liking to bread and he really love it. Now he knows where the bread is, he will walk to the dining table and then pull me /maid to the table and point to the bread and say bread .. bread ...

He is now like a sponge, learing vv fast. He now knows how to call papa, mama, yeye, nai nai, ball, clock .... and he can repeat after us sometimes. So I decided that it's time that I have to put in effort to teach him more.

Well, that's the joy of motherhood. Enjoying the time spent with the kid and seeing how he's learning. It's really a wonderful experience.
At this age, he is exploring alot of new things and shows a lot of pattern as well. It's not easy to teach him to understand what he cannot do and not good for him but we have to really be imaginative and think out of the box .... can be quite challenging sometimes. Sometimes methods don't work but we cannot just stop there but gotta find new ways and means to find a way that works for the kid. Discovering what makes them tick.

To teach them lovingly yet not in undiscipline manner.

ZQ can slide down from the bed

Been a while since I last updated. Too busy. No time even to read email. It's tough when the company does not allow yahoo email access. But well, it's good for them as it saves them alot of time cos employees spend a great deal of time emailing, chatting on forums (oops!) and surfing. Seriously, if I have a company, I'd ban all public mail website, chatting svcs .... only those authorised for work are allowed.

Anyway, back to my dear ZQ. He is now 10 mths and 1 week+ old. I had been training him to slide down from the bed as advised by my fren whose son is 4 mths older than ZQ. Actually ZQ looks bigger than him ...they used to share clothes with me but when ZQ was 6 mths old, he is already as big. Thanks to papa who is tall, good thing.

So last Sat at in-laws house, Father in law was so excited to tell me that baby had slide himself down from the bed. So I went ... "it was weeks of training know". My mistake, should have just leave it to them to be happy abt that they discover it first. But well, they did, he never slide down by himself at home cos my bed is rather high. He is so clever! So proud of him.

This morning, I went off to work and then when I returned in the evening, my maid told me tat baby actually slide himself down from the bed this morning and went to the kitchen to look for her. She thought it was my hubby who placed baby on the floor but papa was sleeping like a pig! Can't imagine if he has not learnt how to slide down ..... thank God!
